That's kinda what I gathered. I just wonder why they couldn't find the money in the budget to at least buy the IT guys a few Linux Admin books

oy. yeah i think on the public computers i used in the navy.. they disabled the ability to do that.
plus upon signing in, there was a notice about the rules - basically no porn, no anti-government stuff etc.
but ... you know... i wonder how much those guys would complain if you put up pictures of hot undressed guys?
maybe it'll be like my second ship. coworker had bust photo of her husband on the computer. a male coworker whined because he didn't want to look at at a "naked man"
she pointed out he wasn't naked - the photo was cut off so you couldn't see the shorts he had on but she conceded and pulled it down.
until i pointed something out:
Me: Wait... doesn't he have photos of girls falling out of their bikinis on his laptop? (his laptop was private property but... he used it in the workshop so it was open to public viewing). So what's the difference?
Her: You're right! I'm putting my husband back up!
