Why do I get the evil impulse to say "Yes, I am looking for a book..you know it is square?"
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

Smartass librarian: "A square is a two-dimensional construct - with four equal sides and equal corners. We don't have any books like that."
"I can tell her you're all tied up in the projection room." Sunset Boulevard.

That's what I'm talking about lol! I was in B&N the one day and literally heard someone at the customer desk ask the worker "I'm looking for a book, It's about so big and I think it had a horse on the cover" I always laughed when I remembered that.

We totally should have a Xena thread..heh

I have more Interlibrary Loan stories:

2 weeks ago I had a person submit an author (Glenny, Misha) and a title (McMaffia). *sigh* if only the idiot bothered to search our catalog by author, he/she would have found: McMafia : a journey through the global criminal underworld. I delighted in sending an email saying that we do have the book, you can put a hold on it, just go by author's name or type in "McMafia".

Yesterday I had a person request the book, The Diary of Anne Frank. That title belongs to a movie and a play, but the title is actually The Diary Of A Young Girl . I'm so used to that being misnamed, but then the person also requested I Know Why The Bird Cage Sings. Yes, it was fun sending emails to the person telling her the correct titles.

Another person requested a movie that came out in 1998, but it only is available at libraries in VHS. The person wanted a dvd. oh well.

Another person wanted a movie called Wild Animals and they actually gave producer, actors and the director. The closest I could find was a movie whose title was something like Animals in the amazing Wild, produced by the same people mentioned but different director and actors. I had to send an email telling the patron what I found, if that is what he/she wanted.

Then another person asked for a title Adam and Eve, the author was Enoch. Yah know, couldn't find it.

Wow. My system requires the ISBNs for each book for inter library loans. Those guys don't know how lucky they are to have you!
I meant to address this. you can fill out the ill form with just the title and author (or name of actor if it's a dvd though oddly, people asking for dvds usually don't put anything for author and they are still able to submit) or artist, format, and how much you are willing to pay if the only library with a copy charges.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

          I wish porn had subtitles.
