"Orders for more than 3 subs have to be called or faxed in"
Bummer for them they'd lose my business. I usually get 4.

And I'm really simple to make sandwiches for since it's always they same, I know what I want, and two of them have almost nothing but the main ingredient.

Hell, me and my 4 can get through faster than most people with 1, but if they have a limit, I'll abide and go elsewhere.

you'll like one sign that actually WAS posted, at the old subway at little creek:

"Orders for more than 3 subs have to be called or faxed in"

After last Wednesday when the line was held up by someone reading from a touch-screen phone (Android or iPhone? Who cares?) to order a dozen sandwiches...I'd say YES.

Small problem with the original post/thread title, though. We all know that SC's don't read, so all those lovely signs are wasted as they are only going to be read by customers who would've done it that way anyway

Hence a sign underneath "Failure to read the signs will result in extra being added to your bill".
