Same basic issue here, but in Men's US Size 16EEEE Wide. I wore a size 13 when I *was* 13, and many stores' selection of those are slim to none >_<
I know you are not me, but we have eeriely the same feet. I grew a shoe size a year until I turned fifteen, then I topped out at size 16 when I was seventeen. I'm not sure what EEEE counts as, as my shoes just say "16W", so maybe not as wide. I've bought my last few pair through Casual Male Big & Tall, and they're pretty good about ordering things if they don't have them in stock.

I did have a (short) coworker once jokingly threaten to beat me with his shoe after Bush Jr. had one thrown at him that time. I took mine off and waved it mockingly back at him. Coworker then ran down the hall yelling, "Halp! He's a-gon' squasher me like a cock-a-roach-aaa!"

I wonder if this mom harrassed the other kids' parents. I can imagine her going up to each parent during a game and demand that they check their kids' closets for an extra pair of shoes.

Though since it doesn t sound like she done that since no other parent complained about her.

EEEE is really just short for "I have never gone one full year without hearing a joke that refers to my foot coverings as 'boats' " >_<

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoe_si...th_designators This may help ^_^

A thru H, NMRW, and the numbered widths are all just different methods used by different manufacturers. To hazard a vague guess, I would speculate that W is probably close to an E. An A is quite narrow by comparison.

The really fun thing is, I've seen size 13 1/2 shoes which were LONG enough to accomodate my feet, but 13's simply don't seem to come in widths that large.

If she tried it, she was probably quickly put in her place.

Probably because she'd convinced herself (without actually checking) that the school would reimburse her. As in, "That will teach those bastards for letting my poor little didums's shoes get stolen."
getting a mental image of the Dursley's now. and how crazy and entitled they act.

but seriously, if he's 15 either he has issues with responsibility or keeping track of his stuff
or he's doing something nefarious with his shoes.

at what point can you (if you can) issue a restraining order against her?

I've gotten the boat thing since I hit size 12s as a kid. Its just something you let pass...unless I see a good opportunity fo my favorite comeback: "Well, you better hope I don't kick you in the belly button then. I'd hate to be accused of causing a naval (navel) collision."

The article doesn't seem to make clear how the widths compare, but fair enough. I got flat feet to make up for it. Mine have no arch whatsoever (runs in my dad's family), making for fun hunting for such large shoes with no arch support. On the bright side, barefoot at the pool, I make suction-cup noises on tile.

I am fortunate when it comes to shoes. I am a nice, boring, easy, standard size 9.

My MOTHER, on the other hand, has issues. To be honest, I don't think she has every actually found a shoe in her true size. Which is 6AAA.

Means her feet are so narrow they're basically human ice skates!

Of all the things I've gotten from Mom, I am very happy that this was not one of them!

Why the buggery did she spend over a hundred quid on shoes?
My last pair cost me $170 if I remember correctly. That would be about £105 at the current exchange rate. (Not counting the orthotics, which were another $280 or so.)

So, at the moment, £100 is just over $160 USD. For my new job. I had to get some business casual shoes. I found a very nice, very comfy pair for $40, and these are far better than I would think would be required by a school.
I have a lot of construction professionals (e.g. masons, electricians, carpenters, welders, etc.) among my steadies. They typically spend at lest $150/pair for safety shoes; but then, these are required under various safety regulations--deductible as 'safety equipment', of course. I also saw a receipt for a $200 pair of orthopedic shoes.

I myself wear a size 13. When I was growing up, I could just tell the salesman that I wear that size and would see everyting they had in my size--all 4 to 8 pairs.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

I have a hard time finding shoes as well. I wear an 8 1/2W, and finding a half-size in a wide is like searching for gold on Deathwater Island. You'll kill yourself finding it. (Anyone who gets that reference...)

I've got one pair currently that fits that bill, but I've had them for about 6 years and they're falling apart.

I just wish it was easier to find them.

You should check Payless. At least the one here in KW seems to stock tons of W's. Every time I go in there looking for some size 9's, half or more of what I see are W's, from the 8's all the way through the 10's. (I sometimes don't realize how far I've wandered, but usually catch on within a size or so....)

I'm at the other end of the spectrum - 12 EEEEE. Yes, that's 5E. I'm walking on pancakes.

I remember my parents having to special-order shoes when I was way younger - now, the only shoes that seem to work is New Balance, 12 1/2 EEEE.

I'll be having to get dress shoes soon, though - I'm dreading having to shop for them.

My mom's side of the family all have "duck feet." Tiny little heels and EEE at the toes.

                              big feet...

had a guy in my bootcamp who had that problem. I think he was size 16 Mens (possibly E). They didn't carry "boondockers" in his size and had to special order them... and they could only find them in red. They dyed the boots black but they never really looked right. So he was given a chit that stated he was excused from keeping his boots well-blackened.
