In the last few months I've been doing a flyer route. At the beginning I was doing 3 of them through I had to drop two as it was a bit overwhelming at first. On One route I was starting on the first part of one side of the street. Suddenly I heard a screech and looked across the street to see a woman trying to get my attention. Okay... I thought wondering what the woman wanted but politely acknowledged her with a smile and asked her what was it. She then told me that she did not want me Delivering flyers to her. A Reasonable request on it's own and I looked at her house and then looked for the number. It wasn't there. I had looked back up and said "Alright, It won't happen as your number is not on the list". She then said back "Well I don't want flyers so don't deliver them to me" I stared for a moment and said "Ma'am your not on the list so you don't have to worry about it". And she then snarled and got on a rant how she had to phone the company three or so times and no changes. I repeated myself once again, saying it was obviously not going to happen, at least by my doing, again; even commented on putting a note on her mail box so that other flyer places don't give her flyers. Unfortunately she gave me on heck of a look before turning away with her nose in the air. It was one of the routes I ended up dropping but none the less sometimes people like her do pop up time to time, same nasty look and apparent lack of hearing. Is it really that are to put a piece of Paper on the box saying 'No Junk Mail'? I did not realize that I had commented a horrible sin for (in this case) bring papers in a five miles radius of you.

Well, of course since she caught YOU, you must also be responsible for every other flyer she's ever received at that and every other address!

Your not putting fliers IN mailboxes are you? Cause we at the USPS strongly frown at that and we do charge for 1. picking them up and 2. standard mail postage rate for every piece picked up.

Sad thing was, I was checking my list and seeing which house I was delivering to next. And I did give the usually suggestion of 'Put a No Flyers sign on your mail box' but apparently the stress of taping a single piece of paper to the mail bx would have caused her limbs to fall off.

And I do tend to put them in the mail box only due to the fact that it's where we are told to put them *shrugs* My Boss hates my guts because I get him to do his job and want him to work with me (Evil Aren't i? ). I didn't know that, that happened and I'll bring it up with the guy who gives me the flyers (AKA my boss) as I rather not unintentionally get people charged additionally, especially during the winter season as the bundles have been huge (At least three bundles which I have to put together before bringing them to the houses).

Also, Thanks for the Welcome ^-^

yeah your company can get in trouble with the post office for that if you're in the US. (I've seen it happen)

but indeed you shouldn't be held to blame for all companies posting flyers.
