    I got "human suspension" at the first mention. It was on the very first episode of "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" cable show hosted by Dean Cain back in 2000.

        Thanks! Here I was thinking it stood for Juvy Pop (songs sung by those fresh-faced kids that win the Teen awards one year and you never hear from them again).

          Regarding the suspension with the meat hooks, I recall nightclubs with heavy singles clienteles being called meat markets (or was it meet markets?) Maybe the use of meat hooks was a commentary on that.
