  • Another Banana lady

The Banana Lady thread in sightings made me remember an incident with a Banana lady a few months ago.

I'm scanning through her shopping and get to the Bananas.

G:*weighs bananas and adds to bill*
BL: *takes bananas and goes to pack them. Notices a banana with one or two black spots on it*
BL: Oooh... that one is no good.... take it off. *hands bananas back*
G: *scans whole bunch through as a void, removes bad banana, rescans and hands back*
BL: *takes bananas back, notices another one with almost invisible black spots*
BL: Oooh.. that ones no good either... take it off *hands bananas back*
G: *scans bunch through as void, removed bad banana, rescans and hands back*
BL: Oooh... I'm not sure about this one either....

Luckily the next customer starts sighing a bit loudly so she quickly packs them and moves on.
I am so SO glad I was not present for this. There would have been an unpleasant duct tape incident. - Joi

One or two small black spots arent a problem. In fact I normally run into bananas that arent ripe myself.

I just wish they would notice this stuff and make these decisions before they get in line to check out. That way they don't snarl your whole line up.
I'm sorry, but I've reached my maximum allowable exposure to stupidity limit for the day. I'll have to get back to you tomorrow.

no considering this is what a fully ripe banana should look like-yes a yellow banana is NOT fully ripe yet.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

Those are too soft and sweet for my tastes. I prefer them firmer and tarter.

But seriously, she couldn't inspect her bananas before the checkout line?

Well, sometimes when I pick the ones that are still slightly green, I swear all the green is gone by the time I get to the checkout! Anyway a few little black spots are normal, that doesn't bother me.

It ain't the spots, it's the softness. You don't eat the dang peel, lady.
