SC plans ahead

i'm having to deal with costumers where i work now, and people never seem to plan ahead, and expect me to make up for all that time they wasted

we engrave signs, we have it almost daily now...
US= me and my boss
SC= guess who!
(my thoughts)

US:" hello, so and so company here"
SC:"hi, you engrave signs?"
US:"indeed we do"
SC:"i'm have to catch a boat, and i need a sign with me, can i come get a sign in an hour?"
US:"....no, making signs takes time, and is usually ordered ahead of needed time"
SC:"but i really need this sign with me..."
(sorry, i can't magically pull signs outta my ass)
US:"try *other company* maybe they can make one faster"
(i doubt it, as they're a bigger company with even more customers, everyone expecting their signs already made the day they come in and order them)
SC: "right... " *click*


we get many of those, they wait until the last minute, and expect us to practically decend from the heavens in golden light holding the sign they wanted, this in 5 minutes max.

ah yes, I know the type! The Tall One runs a web and graphic design company, and one of his customers will request an ad poster to be designed, then TWO HOURS before it's meant to be printed, call in and make major changes to it!
Of course, he then gets charged triple
