  • I'm not sure which of us is the idiot here.

Maybe this belongs over in "Oops," I'm not sure.

I'm making a wolf costume. An AWESOME wolf costume. Just finished the head. Which means the fur color is well and truly set, I can't change things at this point. At least not without completely re-making the head, which would set the project back a couple of weeks, and the deadline is on the 31st.

And I just remembered that the customer had requested I order a specific fur. Which I forgot about entirely.

But given that our conversation discussing this costume is one hundred and thirteen e-mails long at this point... I can't help but feel that it's not entirely my fault that I missed something mentioned in just one of them.

I really wish more people could be frigging concise.

The fur I actually used is not entirely unlike what he wanted, it's slightly lighter and just a touch more brown tone, but otherwise very much the same stuff. So hopefully he won't mind and this will all be all right in any case. The awesomeness may make up for the color being not perfect.

Edit: Oh geez I cannot brain today. I just sent an e-mail asking this customer a question, and realized right after I hit send that I had the answer. Then I did the SAME thing to another customer with another question. *facepalm* Right, this probably does go in "Oops", I'm obviously an idiot.

You are not an idiot. You are howeve rperhaps over-working yourself to the point where your brain is screaming "NO! NO MORE! STOP!!" Well...That's what it sounds like to me anyway. I could be completely wrong--about the over-working, that is. You are definitely NOT an idiot!

Yeah, if it was me, I'd be thinking I needed to take a break.

I just hit my own personal wall this week. I've been vending at a lot of shows this winter/spring, and there was one more big one this weekend that I was supposed to go to, and then I'd have a couple months off with no shows. Well, I just can't do this last show. I'd love to but I can't. My inventory is not ready and I've been making myself sick trying to get to where I need to be, and that's been putting me even further behind. Anyway, everyone has a wall they hit eventually, I think it's important not to push yourself past it.

Well, the customer said he hadn't even noticed I'd used a different fabric, so it's all good.

And thankfully I'm taking the whole weekend off, so I can recover a bit from my current state.

Yes, do take the weekend off! Take some time and pamper yourself, sounds like you really need it.
