  • Hasn't been TOO bad lately

Here is my collection of stories from the golden arches from the past few days:

    1. The OTHER left!
This happened last night after I was closing my lobby. I still had 4 (!) groups inside when it was time to lock the doors, so I locked two of them and let the groups know that when they were ready it would be the left side door to get out of. MOST of the groups managed this just fine. Then this older guy goes up to the right door and starts pushing.
    Me "The left door, sir."
Guy proceeds to look confused and continues pushing.
    Me "No, the left one."
Guy then pushes on the left side of the SAME door.
Me "The... other.... one.... on .... the .... LEFT...."
He then managed to find his way out.
This reminded me of that Family Guy episode where the fly can't find his way out the open window.

    2.
This lady came in and decided to make every weird request possible to see what we would and wouldn't do. To her credit, she did not go all SC - crazy on me to the ones I told her no to.
    Request one:
Wanted to order and pay for food now, but leave and have us wait to make the food when she came back. (Why not just order when you return????)
    Verdict: Yes
    Request two:
Wanted me to give her free redbox codes without purchasing the correct items to receive said redbox codes.
    Verdict: No
    Request Three:
Argued that she had purchased enough food that it would be the same price as a smoothie. Now can we give her rebox codes.
    Verdict: Still no.
    Request Four:
Wanted us to grill onions with her meat.
    Verdict: Yes
    Request Five:
Wanted to purchase a small (12 oz.) smoothie in order to receive redbox code, but wanted us to instead give her a smoothie that would fill up the entire 50 oz. Big Gulp she had.
    Verdict: No.

    3. Customer claimed our drive thru girl shortchanged her. Her total was $3 even. Claimed she gave the girl a $20. When I asked the girl she said the customer gave her exactly $3. Customer then changed her story and she said did give her $3, but she was owed change. Explained to customer that giving someone $3 for a $3 order does not necessitate change. Customer left.

    4. This, by far, is one of the best things that has happened in a while. I even got to witness it . I sent one of my employees out to change the trash in the playland. When they change them out there they just take the trash straight to the bin rather than dragging it through the store. The way that our store is set up for this instance the girl had to take it out through the drive thru lane to the other side of the store. She was safe from cars for the most part because there is grass to walk on until you have to cross the lane to get to the garbage bins. When the girl had to cross over the lane a car came FLYING around the building through the wrong entrance (in the part where we get truck deliveries) and almost struck the girl, but stopped just in time. The funny part about this is when the girl saw the car she dove into the bushes out of the way - BUT threw the entire bag of garbage at the car's windshield at the same time. She had both fight and flight in her.
