  • The Lamb Becomes a Lion

I am generally a mild mannered individual, but there are times I can get downright mad.

Take last night for instance, we had a large crowd due to a special event locally. A few of the people staying in one of our rooms were being so noisy that other guests were complaining. I sent the Lounge security to ask them to keep it down, and they tried a number of times. Finally, security asked me to call in the cops (it's always a good night when I have to do that)

Well, they don't see anything, but a few minutes later, I get another call (same guest). It's time (3am) for me to investigate. I go to the first culprit and there are two individuals (1 male and 1 female) with one male inside the room, with the door open, they're truck was playing the radio. I told them firmly (but kept my tone low) to keep the noise down (basically said go to bed and turn off he radio). Then, I went to investigate another complaint. When I came back the other guy was outside, and the door was shut, but nothing else had changed. I told them they needed to turn off the radio and go to bed (again). They protest, but do shut off the radio. I head back to the front desk. The bartender comes in a minute or so later and says they are still out there talking loudly. I head to the hotel entrance nearest to them and listen. As soon as I hear them I, step outside. Then I say, "If I have to call the police again, they're going to escort you off the property, and you won't get a refund."

This, finally, takes care of the problem.

I have never had to threaten a guest with a police escort before, but I guess there's a 1st time for everything.

So, just to make sure I am getting the right mental image: your hotel room doors open to the outside, and these SCs had their truck parked in front of their door to play loud music, thereby disturbing the rest of the guests?

The police "didn't see anything"?? My guess is those SCs turned that radio off post-haste and went inside when they saw the cops, then went right back to doing it when they left. Ugh, the sheer nerve of some people!
