Ha ha! Karma sure kicked that old man right in the ass.
It takes a special kind of idiot to put a garment in the overhead bin flat and expect it to stay that way throughout the flight.
Betcha his coat was ruined. Red stains--badly.
Meh. if the stain is fresh, just pour boiling water *through* the fabric and the stain will vanish (usually completely). This works on lipstick, red ink, red wine, food dyes, red crayon, blood, tomato, etc. So far, it's worked on everything red I've ever stained clothes with That Martha Stewart, she's got some smart people working for her.
I knew how to spell it, but I have heard two different pronunciations of it. Most Americans pronounce it "Glen fid itch," and I used to think that that was the way it was. But I had some Scots in my bar a while back, and they distinctly asked for "Glen fid ick." Being Scottish, I figured they knew what they were talking about. So, is it a hard k at the end, or a typical American ch? Just wondering.
I'd imagine that since loch is pronounced lock, then the hard K is correct.
After last year's excursion, I took the view that my carry-on was going to be light. I had seven books in there (three given away during visiting, since they were read etc), my gloves and hat, and one or two things I might feasibly need during the flight. Easy, right?
Not so for others - we're talking the kitchen sink poking out of some bags. What do people need so much crap for?
Damn. Well, what can I say? I talk to a LOT of people about Key West, and oftentimes, I don't remember who it was I talked to. Hell, talk to some of my close friends, and ask them how many times I have told them the same damn story, thinking it was the first. I am notorious for that.
I have a friend like that...when we were in college we started reciting the next line in unison whenever she started a story we'd already heard 12 times.
And if I ever make to KW any time soon (highly unlikely, by the way) I promise to track you down...
