  • I didn't know this...

Apparently charging $129.99 for a room is "raping people", per the guy that just walked out.

Did I mention we are the only hotel in a 60 mile radius with rooms?

PS: I hate when people cheapen the tragedy that is rape by using it in this manner.

$129? I've got a place near me that I would only begrudgingly rate 1 star..(if somebody forced me to, as 1 star is giving it WAY too much credit) that is higher then that.

I had a customer leave a message on our voicemail one weekend, screaming about the cost of a death notice. When he got to "you're raping the public," I deleted the message. There's nothing you can do to make someone like that happy, anyway. Even if they got what they wanted for free, they'd still be pissed off.

          That's horrible.
I hope they never have to deal with actual rape, because paying $130 for a room is something most people would willingly do.

            Hah

When people say that I usually go "You wouldn't know the first thing about it, this is a treasure compared to that."

I have been known to cheapen rape though, in a hypocritical fashion

It's alright, even my husband does sometimes (cheapen rape, that is).
However, woe to the person who does so in hearing range of me.

i'm reminded of a phonecall recording doing the rounds online a few years ago, when a woman went completely ape-shit on a callcentre workers claiming she was being gang raped and her friend had been gang raped in real life so knew what it was like. before threatening to have the worker tax auditted and harrassed for the rest of his life.

Ah yes, because in her friend's mind, gang rape=mere inconvenience.

OMG i want to scream at people who use that term like that! I just want to say "I am not forcing you to rent a room, and I'm certain that people who are held down, beaten and forced to have sex appreciated the comparison between a rate that is higher than you alone are willing to pay. A simple, no thank you, thats too much for me, will suffice."

People who cheapen that term suck.

And $130 a night isn't bad at all.

Of course, we're $50 a night, and I regularly get people complaining we're too expensive!

Me too. I hate it when people use it soooooooooooooooooooooooooo freakin'....casually. "I raped that button." "I raped that guy (when talking about beating him in a game or something)". It is sooooooooooooooo disrepectful. I've had many people complain about the price, tho the one the stands out is:

                        Woman: How much?
                        Me: $XXX.XX
                        Woman: *dramatic* ...ROBBERY!!!!!
Me:.... never got that one before....
