Down here we get a lot of people riding horses and tractors through drive-through fast food places-but they get served anyway, if there are rules against it no one bothers with them. Bikes they don't allow, but if you come up on a John Deere or a big fat ol' saddle horse, you'll get your food. Some of them will even give the riders carrots or extra lettuce or something for the horse. Had one guy ride through on a longhorn bull! He had to have custom-made that saddle-but it was AWESOME.
    Wow!

I imagine it's because tractors and horses are big enough to be seen by other vehicles, but bicycles aren't always.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

Living in Texas-it's hot, it's dry, sometimes it's annoying as heck with the religious redneck population that DOES exist (not as many as you'd think, though)-but it's never, ever boring. XD

God, I hate those self-entitlement morons who start waving things in your face-"I make xxx a month!" "I have a Gold card!" "I drive a Ferrari!" Well la tee freakin' da. I actually got very irritated with one customer who kept complaining that I wasn't treating him the way he deserved (I.E. Waiting on him hand and foot and ignoring all my other customers to bring him everything he wanted right that second), particularly after he yanked my ponytail really hard to get my attention when I'd had my back to him, and he wouldn't shut up about how much money he had and his stupid car. When he started making demands (I forgot exactly what it was) and I told him it was against company policy, he replied with "Well I drive a ferrari!" I finally got fed up, looked at him, and flat out told him that if he wasn't going to give me the car, I really couldn't care less what he drove.

Almost got in trouble over that one. XD
LOL I was temping for a friends place working on the hot line because he was short a cook when some damned prick came in - I hate food critics - pulling that shit, and complaining on the cheap mexican workers. I was out the side sitting on the hood of my car of the time, a 74 TVR vixen in that burnt orange ... and he was bitching about the staff abusing the customers cars. He just didn't like the fact that some lowly kitchen workers had the temerity to take a break where people could *gasp* see them I would guess.

I am as glowingly white as Casper the Friendly Ghost, and at the time was skinny as hell [I had just gotten out of hospital and was about 92 pounds soaking wet, at 5'7" tall] and my hair was 1 inch spikes, black at the roots and bleached out and chrome yellow at the tips.

My buddy, the owner, had just come out to see what the yelling was about, and this jerk rounded on him and was pointing back at me screeching about mexican kitchen monkeys sitting on the customers cars and I couldn't take it any longer. I stood up, flipped my roach at him and told him he needed to smoke up, he was way too uptight and that he should have respect to my mexican kitchen monkeys because we were responsible for the food he was eating. Jerk blubbered at Sam trying to get me fired and Sam told him that I was right, so he pulled the abusing the customers cars, and Sam told him the car was mine and I could sit on it if I wanted to ... I went back in since my break was done.

Sam threw him out, got a bad review in the paper which anybody who knew restaurants knew was total shit. I guess the jerk never figured a lowly kitchen monkey could afford a sportscar

[actually i was retired from cooking, i was managing machine shops for a hell of a lot more money than I should have been making ]

Wow. I can only assume that he wasn't much of a food critic. Part of the job, imho, is trying to be inconspicuous so that you will get the same food as everybody else, rather than having extra care taken to give you something better than normal, and thus, non-indicative of the food quality in general. For some critics, this isn't possible simply because they are too well-known...but that's why you bring friends and have them place the order BEFORE you come in from the car ^_^

... why do some people actually insist on acting like asshats?? That "imma ordar 4 tehmz" guy needs to re-assess his anger strategies.

I am seriously going to step up my efforts to report GOOD customer service to corporate and/or managers...I know when I get official kudos at work (which is rare) I'm just tickled pink. Maybe if enough people did this, it would actually make dealing with the sucky ones easier to take.

This question has troubled me for years...Unfortunately, the only answer I have been able to come up with is, "They're not 'acting' ."

Lol. The only American Express card that would impress me (barely) is the Centurion (black card made of Titanium). And that's only because I know how hard it is to get. You CAN'T apply. It has to be offered. (That's why you will sometimes see other cards that are black now out there. They are trying to imply it is as hard to get, but when someone has a black v/mc card with a $500 limit, that isn't impressive at all. It's the same with a v/mc platinum card. They just aren't hard to get.)
So that's why my new Master Card is black. I was wondering about that. The only black I care about on a credit card is that black stripe on the back.

As for the exclusivity of AmEx cards, my wife has two of them. AmEx provides credit card services for Macy's and Bloomingdales where she has accounts. I guess AmEx was becoming so exclusive they had to find new ways to get customers.

Ex-husband's grandma had an AMEX Centurian at one point. She actually BOUGHT a car with it.

I've had a American Express card. Years ago. I remain entirely unimpressed by them. AMEX boy would've gotten laughed at, if he'd tried that on me.

Hey now. Clark Howard retired for the first time at age 33, and he still eats at Krystal Burger (like White Castle, but awesome) and Wendy's several times a week. Having money doesn't make the simple things any less tasty.
                        Yes, BUT -

A lavish claim of wealth, or what prestigious kind of vehicle a person owns, or whatever, as a point of argument, made while standing in a fast-food joint, is automatically suspect in the extreme - in addition to being completely irrelevant to the argument.
Such a claim is an instant signal that the individual making it is just a tool - regardless of whether or not the claim is actually true.

And oh, yeah - I am well-familiar with Krystal's. I wish we had 'em in Cincinnati. We have White Castle, which I like, but I'd really like to have Krystal's around, too. I remember that Krystal's was a more-than-satisfactory fix for a fresh-out-of-boot-camp Navy man cravin' the Castle in Memphis, many, MANY years ago.

I couldn't tell a Ferrari from a Honda because guess what, entitled dude: some of us don't care about cars, nor credit cards, nor anything else you think is impressive. Know what impresses me? True humility. Respecful behavior. Accepting the word "no" like a gentleman.
I don't get men who think we, as women, should be impressed with the car they have, how much money they make and what credit cards they have. I have never been impressed with those things. Now if he has a Harley....just kidding!

I am impressed with intelligence and I agree with Food Lady on a man who is respectful, has manners and humility. A Harley wouldn't hurt either.

I don't think we have any WC stores here, but we do have a tiny little town by the same name (~1900 people)...Every time I hear the term, I think of the latter. Sliders aren't exactly hugely popular 'round these parts ^_^

I used to put Krystal on the same par with White Castle...until I'd tried Krystal (and was not very impressed) then went back up to New Jersey and had White Castle (and was grossed out). Used to love the WC burgers too...lol. Oh, and they sell two-packs in our vending machines at work.

The BK stores around here are trying to feature their "sliders" again, as well...They're okay, but not that great. I'd rather have the dollar burger/single stacker...
