I am... Delightfully Evil as my friends like to say xD I come by it honestly as my mom is evil
There's nothing evil about charging Asshole Tax on someone like this. Whether that is a positive or a negative is entirely up to you ^_^

I see people on Craigslist and another website I'm a member of (nannies/sitters/pet care) that think it should cost no more than $10/hour for a sitter for a handicapped child.
Thats because that is the going rate that most respite providers get when they are paid through a state agency where I live. Some get slightly more or less per hour depending on the level of care given and such but $10/hour is what I currently get.

I can understand if you truly *can't* afford to pay very well. But, if that's the case, you find ways to make up the difference--make the caretaker some cookies, offer to cut their grass, wash the car, etc. Otherwise, you deserve the "cheap bastard" label, and should wear it with pride
All someone like me would be able to do is offer some of my 'keeps me sane to make it' craftwork. Eventually.

But yeah, it'd be on offer. Or they could choose from finished pieces.

Ah, but would state agency workers be getting an assortment of benefits as well?

NOTE: I believe carers (for the disabled and the aged) of all sorts are GROSSLY underpaid. The work is often difficult, sometimes disgusting, and the patients range from angels to the literally psychotic. Sometimes the patients are actually dangerous, to themselves and/or to others.

When I become Supreme Ruler of the Universe, carers will have training, and will be paid a decent income for their type of work. And yes, carers who deal with dangerous patients will have extra income accordingly. Ditto carers who deal with biohazard. (Their employers will also be required to issue biohazard kits.)

Please excuse me, I'm starting to Fratch.

        1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
        2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
        3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
        4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

I'm not a state agency worker, so no benefits, but am paid by the state as a part of the clients disablity benefits as such so the parents have time to take care of themselves and work.

If She wants me to watch her kids again, she'll be paying me to watch all of them if they are all there.
And if you go back to her she has to pay IN ADVANCE.

If she balks "You can't be trusted. You LIED to me about the rate and then you invented issues to try justifying cheating me. We're through."

So I went to pick up the rest of my money. She took her sweet time coming to the door, me being a bit impatient as I needed to go and get my flyer route done and I didn't' what to be fucked around by her anymore. I rang and knocked on the door several times in a ten minute time frame, listening as if I would have heard a 'Hold on a minute' I would have been quietly waiting. She opened the door and this delightful conversastion happened.

              SB - Sucky Bitch
Me - Again (Thoughts that I thought)

              SB- Really?
              Me- ....
SB - I was in the bathroom
ME- I didn't hear you say hold on so I didn't know what was going on
SB - I mean, No One does that? (You mean I've been the only one you've tried to fuck over? lucky me... Oh you mean get impatient... )
Me - *shrugs* I've seen it happen (My own sister to be exact, She's bitch slap patience if she got half the chance)
              SB - It's Annoying
Me - Well so is not getting all the money your own
SB *crosses her arms to hold my money ransom apparently* Well so is not having someone take care of your kids properly
Me- *twitches a bit at that* I never claimed that I had alot of experiance taking care of disabled children.I did a one hour painting session where I worked for a bit
SB - You never said you couldn't lift him! (Sorry I forgot to ask my pocket fortune teller how that would go) And you didn't take him for walks! And you said you didn't want him falling down the stairs when he wouldn't have! (Have you seen that kid when he's got intent in his eyes?) And I didn't want my other two just sitting around playing video games all day.
Me- You did not tell me everything and I did not want to deal with the fear that he might go careening down the stairs as well as any guilt if he got hurt. And it was easier to watch the two of them when they were actually in the house plus I was not informed until after the first day that they'd be there.
SB - I did tell you that I needed someone to watch *insert all three boy's names here* (Lies!) Besides they're 9 and 11! They can go outside without needing a babysitter (Then Why were they thrown in at the last minute?)
              Me- ...
SB- I hate to say this (Bullshit) but you do not deserve to be a babysitter.
Me- *feels anger and tears spike up* Whatever, just give me my money, I need to go and do my flyer route.
SB- *hands me the paper (The First Twenty) and drops the rest which is in change BTW in true SC fashion*
Me- *picks up the two quarters that fled her hands in the hopes of freedom from the twit and left*

She shorted me .50 cents but at that point I was just glad she gave me my damn money. My mom was positive that she dropped the change to make it look like 'Oops you missed some' but at this point I don't care. She can love up those two quarters (Or five dimes, ten nickles or fifty pennies) as much as she wants because it's not worth it.

I cried a bit at being told that I don't deserve to be a babysitter as I pride in the fact that I am good with kids and kids generally like me. Though it's funny because If I'm so horrible, why does her two youngest children want me to watch them again?

I probably would have told her she doesn't deserve to be a parent.

YI - She's full of s***. She was simply trying to justify her attempt to cheat you and screw you over the whole time. As you already know, she's not worth your time. Don't worry about anything the hag has to say -- I'm fairly certain that she's gone through many, many babysitters because fo this, and she probably will go through many more, to the detriment of her kids, all because she can't be honest and forthright, herself.

It's over now, and that's all that matters. If you hear of anybody else who might sit for her, warn them about her.

If She hadn't been holding my money hostage I would have. She enjoys getting pity because she has a disabled kid but she can't be bothered to give full instructions on taking care of him.

Probably but then again she said two different names when complaining about the last person who 'fucked' her over. First one was on the first day I watched the kid and the second was on a day I was trying to get the last bit of my money. Thanks for the hug, Hugs are great for cheering me up lol.

I will warn people as she just cares about getting someone to watch her children for cheap. I'm just glad the disabled boy didn't do number two all that much as I don't enjoy cleaning it up >.< He can't help it and I knew that it was at least part of the job but still. It didn't mean I had to like it.

Heck, I hate changing my own kids' dirty diapers. You certainly don't have to like it just because it's part of your job. :sage nod:
