I <3 giftcards, and my friends and family know which stores I like to get them from.

Even if it isn't from a store I frequent I can usually find something to spend it on.

It's better than my parents trying to buy me clothes. I know they mean well, but they just don't know what I like. I mean, they tried to get me JNCOs once. >.>

The only clothes I tell people to buy me are shirts, socks, and cold-weather wear is always appreciated (I have too many hats and am fine with that). As far as pants go, I swear the sizing is designed to drive women crazy....WTF is with the sudden popularity of flared jeans? I hate that style and can't really wear them.

I prefer bootcut which are slightly flared, but not much.

I think its the fact that skinny jeans pretty much squeeze you tight as anything

Hubby and I like to keep a running wishlist for handing out when gift-giving time comes around, since it makes it more likely that our relatives will get us something we like. Hubby is especially hard to shop for, because there isn't much that he wants.

But yeah, I tend to prefer to pick out clothes myself. I've gotten some outfits before that were not exactly my style, nice as the thought was.

Count me in for the bootcut. I can wear them with my nice dressy boots instead of having to resort to my clunky shoes in the winter. Can't do that with the jeans with tighter calves.

I'm still trying to figure out the super-low-rise I see in abundance in certain stores around here. I can't stand feeling like my pants are about to fall off of me if I move wrong.

I'm wearing my super low-rise pants right now. I adore them. They're also boot cut.

Then again, I have a short-ish hipline and an exceedingly short waist, so they actually rest at normal waist height on me. Now if only I could find more of them that aren't also skinnies... I despise skinny jeans. They make my thighs look like overstuffed sausages. >_<

I really wouldn't know, I don't live in the US. Wouldn't imagine it'd be an easy thing to put to law though, would it? So many loopholes when it comes to defining 'gift card' in the first place. Then what happens about a company going bankrupt? And I don't know much about the way US brings new laws in, but that seems like a pretty big step for something so minor.

Scratch that last one, I forgot that kind of thing is another reason these forums exist.
Not that big a step, Canada has laws that companies can't sell gift cards that expire, the easy definition of "gift card" being that it was purchased for X amount of dollars and is thus worth X amount.

The exception being promotional cards, where the customer didn't buy the card, since no money was echanged they can expire.

Usually those are designed for kids.
Yeah, they are starting them earlier these days...It did actually look like the 3 years plus one that our niece got a couple of years ago though. not the baby activity one they have nowadays.

I prefer the wide leg style (hard to find for me anymore.) All I can seem to find so far around here are boot cut or skinny jeans - which basically means you're squeezing 20 lbs into a 10 lb sack and it all ends up looking like crap.

I'm not much on gift cards - I don't get out enough to go use them (and what places that I've received them from over the years are waaaay over on the other side of Bumfuckt Egypt) so I generally prefer cash. That I can put in the bank and spend from home.
