Our grocery store and meat department are owned by separate people. The meat department owner carries exotic burgers (elk, ostrich, buffalo etc etc.)
This guy comes up to my counter looking pissed off, he demands to talk to the owner. I explain that owner isn't in and ask if there is anything I can do to help him. He proceeds to tell me that he is disgusted that we would sell elk and has been "shaking with rage" since he saw them.
I tell him that he will need to address this complaint to the meat department owner not the store owner as they are separate business. He storms back to the meat counter and begins to lecture the poor kid working there. The kid explains to him that the owner will be in in the morning.
That's not enough for the guy who demands that the offending elk be removed from the store. They were not meant for eating, it's disgusting. They go back and forth when the now fed up kid asks why he is not also offended that we are selling chicken, pork, and beef as they are animals too.
He tells kid that those are domesticated animals not wild like elks. Besides chickens aren't as "majestic" as elks. He catches sight of my co-worker coming out of the back and storms over to her asking if she is the owner of the store.
She hears his complaint and tells him the exact same thing that I told him. That the meat department is owned separately and that the store owner has no say in the matter.
He finally leaves complaining that the sight of the elk has ruined his appetite and that he is going to "ensure" that we don't carry it anymore.
