Ugh, the various threats to call the cops on us was nice, as was the person lamenting how "Sad" it was that we were towing people for illegal parking because that was "Ruining the name of this university!" One seemed shocked that they had to pay to get their car back and was incredulous that we were "Making money off towing!"
Imagine that. A towing company that makes their money off towing.

        Yay, another Argabarga story!

Yes...I too lament the horde of locusts that is the local student population. I hope to be a part of that horde come spring (or maybe summer or next fall, but hopefully spring) but...

Anyway! Bad parking aplenty here. Even worse is the fact that a Malmart I used to work at was right across the street from a major Christian college

It's impossible to do any shopping there late at night now without a bunch of college kids hanging around the entrances and gossiping til all hours.

My college never had that problem during move in fortunately. I mean, we had 2 fairly major state high ways running through the town. I honestly can't remember how parking was handled for parents, but I think it was basically that they opened up all the lots, and let us unload in front of the dorms.

Now, once college started, that was different. The parking tickets were a joke (as long as you got a college ticket and not a town ticket), like a couple bucks. It was not uncommon for my friends to just park wherever they damn well felt like and suck up the ticket as their assigned lots were full/inaccessible :P

I get all excited now, too, when I see them. They're a rarity these days. (Maybe they're worth something on Antiques Roadshow. )
