    I don't know. There's one store in town that won't return earrings or let you try them on. But my store does, and both. So maybe in our state it's not prohibited.

          If it's any consolation, a good percentage of those sucky New Yorkers will eventually end up in Florida.

              This is just one more reason why I rarely buy earrings anymore. If I can make it, I don't buy it.

              And god knows what the health codes say about trying things on in NYS. I mean, Kohl's lets you return underwear, so who knows??
