As for the sun poisoning, it still blows my mind that I can live in Florida where the temperature is still in the 90s and be fine, yet I go to a place where it was 68 degrees at kickoff and get sick.

It's the overcast. Clouds block the visible spectrum but not the stuff that makes you sick. Since it's cooler and darker, you don't think it'll be as bad, so you don't put on sunscreen or look for shade, and you end up sick from it. Fun times.
