  • The madness at work continues as waves of sucky customers hit me hard

This is a continuation of another story "My 6 year old nephew has more patience than these stupid bitches".
So I had the day off yesterday after what was considered my worst day at work since I started working there. A lady came through my line and her card was declined. So she had to get money from the atm, so I pushed the button to suspend the transaction. When we do this I have to wait for a sup to push a button on their pda to approve it. Male customer behind her gets impatient. IMC= Impatient Male Customer
IMC: Can I check out please?
Me: Sorry sir, I have to wait for a sup to approve this.
IMC: I'll pay for her order. Let's go.
At this point I had just about all I was gonna take from impatient people and told him we were just gonna have to wait. And wouldn't you know the sup took a long time to get there, and then the lady never even came back anyway I know he was willing to pay, but I was not going to let him cuz I'm fed up with goddamned impatient assholes. Plus the register will not let me do anything else til the sup hits the button to approve the suspended transaction.
Later in the day at my request, I am put on a register where few customers roam, so I escape from the trouble right? I think we all know the answer by now ladies and gents. A lady wants to make sure we will price match another store, but it was a bit confusing so I called a sup. Man comes up to my register with my light off and I tell him he's better off going to another register cuz I was waiting to fix her problem. He throws his hands up in the air in disgust and storms off. Ok jackass, I just saved you from having to stand there and wait for 5 minutes.
A short while later, while I am on the same register, another lady comes through my line. I bag everything and set it off to the side. 99.9% of customers take their stuff and put it in their carts themselves. I will do it if someone is disabled or handicapped, which this lady was not. Conversation went like this after she stared at me.
SL: Aren't you going to put my stuff in the cart?
Me: If you had asked me, I would've been more than happy to. Yes, I will help you (semi sarcastic and sadistic grin)
SL: You mean I have to ask?
Me: Again Maam, if you ask me, I will always be more than happy to do this for you.
SL: They do it for me at the other registers.
    Me: Have a nice day.
Me (what I wanted to say): I don't read minds you stupid fucking ugly bitch! You aren't entitled to shit! Ask me and I'll gladly do it, but do not fucking expect it and then make me out to be an employee who doesn't provide great customer service!
Thank God I have the day off tomorrow, but then its back to work Friday, and I'm scared to go in now. FOR THE LAST TIME CUSTOMERS.... PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE!!! Someone offer any explanations as to why the crazies are hitting my lines in bunches all of a sudden? I'm going insane!

To answer your question, it's because the holidays are approaching. Halloween customers (specifically those with costumes and discount-hunters) always sucked the most. And keep in mind that while it's only October, the Christmas frenzy and attitudes have begun.

    I wish you luck.

      you asked
      Its all about personal attitude.

Let's just say that 99.9% of the time, I don't get customers with that "attitude". I've been in my current job for 6 months now, and I only had an impatient customer maybe once. Now they seem to be coming more and more. Thing I just can't figure out is why oh why all of a sudden are people turning into whiny little bitches? Just because they have to wait a few minutes in line because I need to get my sup for whatever reason? Ridiculous. I've worked for 17 years or so, and I know from experience that alot of the complainers start coming in around the holidays. Last I checked, we're a week away from Halloween, the holiday season has not started yet. And even during the hoilday season, there were very few rude and impatient people.
God, I wish people would just grow up and suck it up like adults. The fucking world ain't gonna fall apart if you have to wait a few extra minutes.

Just went through a line today at a local drugstore and I know the cashier from another life (so to speak). She looked beat. It was near the end of her shift and apparently she'd been dealing with a truckload of SCs. She says it's weird how some days everybody's OK and then suddenly it's like all the SCs decide to come in at once.

          I directed her here.
