Oh gods, soooo much anime on American TV that's been sanitized and edited for the kiddies. Removing blood and face-contorting punches from DBZ, the blood splattering from One Piece (good manga, BAD show), the blatant relationship between Sailor Uranus and Neptune in Sailor Moon (I think in America they were "cousins"). Blargh - we couldn't even see the epic seizure-inducing episode of Pokemon! What's the fun in that?

I don't even want to know how some clearly not-kid-friendly things become children's cartoon shows.
Practically all anime shown in the West is altered and toned down from the original in some way.
      Even Pokemon.

With the OT of Ducktales, My BIL and I once did a random experiment while waiting in line for a ride at Disneyland and shouted "DUCKTALES!". Nearly the entire line around us shouted back "Whoo! Oooo!"

like the way that Cartoon Network made Naruto into a kid show.
Wait...taking all of the blood and violence out of Naruto would make each episode 5 minutes long >_>

Or boring as hell. XD There's actually three versions of Naruto out; the original sub; the original dub... and the boring sanatised version where people don't get drunk and don't bleed. -.- It's been a while since I've seen the crap version, but one I remember was Rock Lee going "loopy" rather than drunk, and that guy who ended up forced into Kankuro's iron maiden puppet didn't bleed after that. They removed the blood off the film, so afterwards, you're left to guess that he died in there.

That film was edited over here when it showed on TV; back in the 80s, ITV was famous for editing swears with ridiculous substitutions. You melon farmer!

The old Eastman & Laird TMNT comics (before being turned into a kid's show) hold up much better, but are fairly Not Safe for TV. Never really understood how someone looked at those and thought, "Great kids TV!"
There's a new ongoing TMNT series running, now, with Eastman on board with some writing and art duties.

They wouldn't even air the intro episode for Neptune and Uranus originally because the villain for that wears 4 stars for a costume, with the two up top looking like pasties.
