I had a fitting at Victoria's Secret once and the woman told me I was a C cup. I had just gotten used to the idea that I was now fitting into Bs instead of As for whatever reason (weight gain and/or pregnancy, I guess)...but she insisted. I don't wear that bra anymore; it just doesn't feel right. I definitely agree that going with the larger chest size works better, at least for me.

I have a friend who was so fat that a fold of skin that because it was not exposing to the air the sweat built up in the enclosed area and caused him to develop an ulcer, can that happen to women in that area too?
Yes. It can. Whited out for those who don't want to read this (its not that awful honestly)I have one bra that constantly will cause a rash on the band line and cause broken skin due to the fit but its the only bra I can wear with a lot of dresses due to cut/necklines.

And yet again I am promising myself I am going to get a proper bra fitting and replace my current set in the next month or so. Due to being a large cup size I'm going to have to do a London trip for this one. Its worse because no matter how padded they are I can't wear underwired stuff.

I am so SO glad I was not present for this. There would have been an unpleasant duct tape incident. - Joi

I prefer underwire. Gravity is NOT my friend.

Most of the stores around here don't do fittings. There is a store that that specializes in women's bras & lingerie, but I can't get to it without a car. Although I'm pretty happy with what I've got now...still, it would be nice to visit the place and see what it's like to have a professional fitting.

I'm confused as to why a bra fitting would take even 15 minutes, let alone half an hour...unless you're including trying on the fitter's suggested styles?
Because if you look online for the correct way to size a bra you'll find many different ways that are supposed to be right but none of them are.

And what about when you have a woman who after having given birth to a couple children (three in the case of my wife) who have two different sized breasts? No matter which off the shelf bra you get one will be correct and the other will either be squished or might as well not even be in a bra for the lack of support from the oversized cup.

So a proper fitting allows a woman to have something properly sized for them or custom adjusted as needed.
I never lost my faith in humanity. Can't lose what you never had right?

Actually, most women have different size breasts. I'm guessing with most women it's not much of a difference, but it can be, children or not. Definitely can't hurt to have a good bra fitting!

Being another large fronted lady I found a way to cut down on that problem, although I never got an ulcer, but did get sweat rashes.... I use a moisturising anti-perspirant stick deodorant on the affected area

Also an effective (but a bit messy) treatment for rashes in said areas is plain old nappy rash cream!
              Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Actually, most women have different size breasts.
The human body in general is not symmetrical. We all have a hand or foot that's larger than the other, uneven hips, and in women, uneven breast sizes (I wouldn't be surprised if the gentlemen had a similar situation with their bits, but I don't have experience in that area ). For most of us, the differences are small and unnoticed. But for some, the differences are very noticeable.

I do this too, when I put on my deodorant under my arms, I go under my breasts as well. Another thing I've noticed is that a lot of ladies get a discoloration where the band rests against their skin - its darker on some than others, but mine is hardly noticeable - and i think the deodorant may have something to do with this.

For women who are noticeably uneven, ALWAYS fit the larger side, you can use padding/"chicken cutlets" to fill out the other side (and whatever you use, should go under yours, so that it lifts, giving you a more natural look)

I have had many fittings, One of my last ones told me I was a 36 GG, and when my mother brought me home a bra of that size from england it fit wonderfully, then I went to another store that was having a sale (and this store caters to fuller figured ladies) and one of the ladies working there stated "there's no way you're a GG"... funnily enough I ended up buying a 38 DDD low plunge - the way I am shaped (and the cut of all my tops) does not lend itself to full coverage bras, the "balconette" style is my 2nd favorite (it gives me that "shelf" look w/o the corset)

finding a bra that truly FITS a woman is like a grail-quest; and when one that did fit finally wears out (no matter how good of care it got) it can make you feel like you're tilting at windmills

I really need to think up a new username because I don't work for the government now. I currently work in the lingerie department of a large retail company.

Many talcum/baby powders labeled 'medicated' have zinc oxide in them, the same ingredient in the nappy rash cream. In the US, brands like Johnson's Baby, Ammens, and Gold Bond. And you can also get zinc oxide creams sold as sunscreen, too. And they're all messy - it depends on whether you prefer a creamy mess or a powdery mess
