Seshat's self-help guide:
1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Quoth Seshat View PostTotally agreed.
I often have dreams where I'm trying to walk and my right leg collapses, or fails to operate. I can feel my brain trying to move it, and it doesn't respond at all.
That's the leg that works less well anyway.or dreams where I would end up with leg injuries [most commonly a stab wound]
All things considered, I would rather be limpy than deaf or blind. And I would rather be deaf than blind.EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

If I had a choice of disability, I would choose to lose a limb but not be in pain/be otherwise healthy; rather than the state I'm in now.
I'm not saying that losing a limb wouldn't suck - I'm sure it would. I'd just like to be otherwise fully functional!Seshat's self-help guide:

Incoming soapbox rambling approaching, captain!
Shields up!
I've had personal experience with mental disability. Physically I'm perfectly fine. Perhaps not in the best shape or perfectly fit, but I'm pretty average physically.
Mentally I was a complete wreck and unable to function for years. I finally forced myself to go seek help after reaching rock bottom, but it was NOT a fun experience.
Luckily I've learned how to cope with my condition, so I can function now, and I'm entirely normal for the most part. Or so I appear that is. Since I know what the problem is I can just sort of will myself to endure it, and act as if nothing is wrong so I can function in the world.
People who think they're bipolar because they're indecisive or want to be hip just peeve me off.
Yes, I did actually get some decent compensation from the government to allow me to sort of support myself during the whole ideal until I got things figured out, got help, and figured out how to control the symptoms. Free money zomg? Hell no. It was torture.
Luckily, in my case, it only cost me nearly a decade before I got better enough to function in the world. Thats a third of my entire life, gone. For people who have lost limbs? There's no getting better for them.
Do not make light of disability, either physical or mental. Disabled people are not doing it to be cool, hip, or get special perks.

Sadly back discs don't grow back either, I have 7 blown ones and more on the way.
I originally injured one and now 6 years later its progressed farther than I feared it would.
Luckily with treatment I am now a lot better than I ever dreamed I would be again.
I could claim disability but don't. I can walk well enough for now I don't want to take a parking space someone else might need more than me.
If I get to the point where walking gets hard again I might reconsider.

Quoth Flying Grype View PostI know people who like aisle seats for safety reasons, mainly people who are afraid of flying to begin with.."I am quite confident that I do exist."

Quoth Dreamstalker View PostI prefer aisle seats if I have a connecting flight(s), simply because on the likely chance the flight I'm on arrives later than scheduled I have half a chance of getting off the plane quicker (if I'm going through an unfamiliar airport I like the extra time to figure out the gate/terminal arrangement).
but if i don't get it, o well.

Given the option? Exit row or behind a bulkhead. In either of those, 'aisle or window' doesn't really bother me.
What I never want again is 'middle' in a 3-seat section.I endured that once on a 15 hour flight. Middle seat, economy class, ordinary (not exit) row.

I used to always choose window seats for the view...till I got older and had to get up more often, LOL. Also, my flights used to be shorter...now I tend to fly out West and with the Delta SkyMiles, I'm usually flying from Atlanta to Seattle, Portland or somewhere in California. Long flight to be in the window seat position."I was only LOOKING, I didn't mean to enter my card's CVV and actually ORDER! REFUND ME RIGHT NOW!!"

I grew up flying, my mom and dad both had pilots licenses and owned a small plane so the window seat never really was that great an attraction for me. I prefer aisle near the bathroom - nobody else wants to sit there so frequently I have the seat/s near me empty.EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.
