      Very smart! I'll have to remember that one if I ever decide to sell something expensive and highly sought after on Craigslist.

      But if you choose that route, make absolutely certain the cheque has fully cleared - I've heard third-hand stories of banks letting you have the cash, then the cheque doesn't clear and they hit you with the cheque money & the dishonour fee.

      I think I have picked up a scammer though. I have a chest of drawers for sale, and got an email asking if the item is still available. She didn't try and dicker, and said she'd pick it up today if it had no major flaws or terminites [sic]. I assume she meant termites.

      I put her off, told her I wasn't available today, but tomorrow, cash only, and named a place (didn't give my phone number like she asked). I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but I don't expect to hear from her again.
      They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.

        No, she probably meant terminites. They're not there one day, then WHAM all of a sudden you're place is infested with hundreds of thousands of little bugs with glowing red eyes, tiny little Skynet logos branded onto them, and cracking with blue electricity...

          To quote Judy Tenuta, "Great, we can carpool!"

          My biggest problem with Craigslist was the job listings. They offer a job that sounds right up your alley, so you apply for it...and get eighty bazillion spam e-mails for your trouble. Of course I'd report them and block the sender, but a new one would pop up. Like cockroaches, you can never eradicate them.
