  • Tonight, SC = Sick Customer

One of the bad things about working two jobs is that I hardly get any weekends to do anything. But it's sometimes made up by interesting events at work. I just got off today after experiencing, perhaps, my most interesting work related event. I wasn't involved directly but, I was there.

Well, a customer dropped off their computer complaining about sound not working correctly. Well one of my coworkers boots up the computer and loads up windows media player to play some kind of media clip to reproduce the problem. 'Lo and behold what does he find on the playlist? Kiddie and beastiality porn with all kinds of disgusting titles. We didn't bother even checking to verify that it was indeed kiddie porn. We reported it directly to the police and they will be coming by tomorrow to sieze the computer. Somebody's world is about to get f***ed!

I am just so surprised at how stupid people can be. Looking at kiddie porn is horrible...but you would think people would be smarter and exercise a bit more discretion. But, he's getting what is coming to him. One of my other co-workers told me about another customer who was a government employee who had all sorts of classified and top secret material all over the desktop of his personal computer. If anyone knows about government jobs; you aren't supposed to leave SCIFs with that kind of information and much less have those things out there like that. The FBI came and took his computer and he probably had some major explaining to do. People's stupidity surprises me every day.

Be careful. The Best Buy across the street from my Circuit City recently got sued for reporting a guy with kiddie/dog porn. Because we're technically 'not supposed to look at files' even though there is no way around it.

What ever. It's just a legal runaround that he wont win, but it may be a PITA in the near future.

The depths of human depravity and stupidity knows no bounds. Also: if the titles were enough of a give-away, you can just say you reported it to the police because of suspicious looking file names, rather than having actually opened the files.
Your dignity shredded in five minutes or less, or your abuse is free.

Interesting Pezzle, because my husband routinely gets computers sent to the cops for that very problem.

Bunch of sickos out by his store, apparently.
