I think, I might have meant what you said, policy is policy. I may or may not have been under the influence of pain medication the past couple of days (yay bad teeth @@), so, sense I might not have made. Though, probably I don't make much sense anyway.

And, the whole "evil bitchy people make me want to do the absolute bare minimum to help them" thing. heh
you are = you're. not "your".

Though I do not agree with targeting people that use coupons and are able to get products "free". If they're manufacturer coupons, the store has not lost anything. A store limit should exist for purchases and not only directed at coupons.
The way I see it is.... you would have one person "buying" all of said product plus you do realize the store then has to wait to get that money? It could take 6 months or even longer to get the check for the coupons and they also could receive nothing back. The manufacturer could say they never received the coupons or that they were no good.

The place I work lost over $800 from Marlboro because they said they did not receive the coupons. The owner refuses to sign a contract with them until they pay him so our Marlboros are 50 cents to $1.00 more then the rest of the places in town.

Recently they have started voiding any coupon thats not perfect... small rip? no good. Coffee cup ring? Nope no good. Got wet because it was raining when the customer brought it in? Nope not good.

What did the company say when the store showed proof of delivery after they said they never recieved it? That the package was empty? Or the store didn't had proof anymore?

Up here, it's pretty rare for a manufacturer to deny stores. The only major issue was in western Canada with a store name allowing stacking which the manufacturer didn't want. I've never heard about any issues in the east, which is good. And one person normally doesn't have the chance to obtain hundreds of one coupon like they do in the states. Our resources are much less.

Here stores get back the face value + handling so they generally make money by accepting coupons.

Sucks for your store, for sure. The owner is doing well by refusing the contract. Hopefully it can get sorted out.

Haven't heard about rips here. Water damage I can understand, but the majority here are available as tearpads so rips happen. Never had a problem.

Not sure if there was proof or not. It has been years now since that happened.

As for face value + handling... Most that I see say like 8 cents for handling, that doesn't cover all the time it takes to handle them. First the cashier handles it. Then someone in the back handles it. Someone has to keep track of when each one is due to be sent in. Each company has a time limit too. One company may want them before 3 months after they expire, another 6 months, another 2 weeks.

Also say it's a coupon for 25 cents off a $7 item... The store only gets one..... Is 8 cents going to cover someone keeping track of when its due to send in, the time it takes to fill out the paper work, the postafe, etc?

Yeah, I've been told 8 cents here, too.

I don't count the cashier since it's the same as counting and logging money. Generally, they're just kept all together and are labelled. I don't think people here take much time everyday to check those. Just 'deposit', log and move on. Though all stores are different, that's for sure. That's just how it is for a couple of my friends' work.

Small stores don't accept coupons for that very reason (that they might only get one). Major stores usually see them more often. For one 25c coupon, I'm sure they just wrote it off and didn't bother redeeming.

When we got coupons at work (store coupons), I'd take them, count them at the end of the day, same as my drawer and make bundles. Then those bundles joined their friends in the back until it was time to send them out. That way you don't have 10 people counting the same pieces of paper, you know? Bosses trusted me with counting so they didn't check the bundles. Figure in a larger store, at least one other person recounts and then later the sender only has to count bundles.

Yay!! I love stories where the SC gets the boot!!

And now, a word about Old Bat. She needs to shut her pie hole. Now, I myself have lost a baby, and have no living children...so yeah, I might feel a bit wistful if I heard a mom talking about how tired she was because the baby was keeping her awake. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have a right to be tired and frustrated...and I bet I would be too, if I had a baby and whether or not I had also lost one. Why do some people make it their mission in life to make other people feel worse than they already do?? I'm sure if that mom was given the choice between dealing with the lack of sleep and losing her child she'd choose the lack of sleep in a New York minute, but I hope to heaven she never has to worry about that...so let her vent a little bit.
