This couple was, for the most part, very nice during the course of the day. I spent an hour with them, snapping pictures while they got their hair done.
The day goes by, it's nice and they're wonderful and all is well. Since their hall is close to home, we decide we'll fake the cake shot and first dance for them. Well it's late in the evening, we've been working with them all day and we want to go home. The best time to fake these shots is before everyone shows up so as not to prompt an impromptu receiving line.
So mom and I are waiting around in the hall, wondering what's taking them so long. I spot the limo outside and head over to see what's the matter. Bride and groom want to relax in the limo and ask us to wait around another half hour so they have time to relax.
Okay, I understand that, it's a tiring day and you want to chill. But now you're asking us to stick around doing nothing while you do the same? So I tell them they can take the five minutes to get the pictures done or we're leaving. In a much nicer way than that, of course
Huff, huff, grumble grumble later and the shots are done and we're on our way.
Well, when they come to get their pictures they're not happy. They felt "rushed" and "pressured" during the day. No mention of the extra hour I spent with them at the salon. No mention of the fact that we "rushed" and "pressured" them during the course of throwing in some extra pictures that, had they ordered that package, would have been about a hundred bucks more. So they hem and they haw and they leave.
Let me tell you, those pictures were really nice. We don't do shoddy work. So they make a big fuss about how unhappy they were. Well two weeks later they come back and offhandedly mention that everyone who saw the pictures were raving. Suddenly they forget about their displeasure, about being rushed, they forgot about the attitude they copped when they picked up their pictures, they forgot to order any of the shots from the salon too
