I understand that reimbursing the customer for the value of the coupon is company policy, and that you can do zilch about it, but...IT MAKES NO SENSE o_O The value printed from the coupons -- assuming they're real -- comes from the coupon issuer, NOT the customer.
The customer only paid the discounted, post-coupon price, so that's all they should be getting back. In short, word has spread to these..."people"...that your company's a great big sucker x.x and that they need to exploit this loophole for as long as possible. Even a policy of "store credit only on items bought with coupons" would slow it down some, hopefully.
