Thing is.. X cost is one of our running specials that I would have given anyone. But then most people know to ask about specials anyway.

I can understand offering a small discount or freebie if a place is out of a ton of things, or out of the main item they sell, the one everyone comes there for - a case where it leaves the customer with very little choice of what to have (and even then, just as a nice gesture, not that they're entitled to it). But just because they're out of one topping out of dozens? Nope, sorry, life happens, get over it.

my pizza place had two almost like this last week. not with products that we were out of, but a very high concern for time. AND the MODs did not give discounts.

both occured on nights we were somewhat busy

OT - <takes order and quotes 60 minute delivery time....yes we were that busy for a while>
WKWTIS - WELLLLLLLLL I want a discount for the long delivery time. I SHOULD be able to get my order in 30 MINUTES (see my post in the towing thread for the Dominos reference)
OT - well I am sorry but the deliver time IS running about an hour AND I am sorry but we do NOT give discounts for orders that have quoted delivery time that long.
WKWTIS - WELLLLLLL I think I still should receive a discount the for long delivery time.
OT - I AM SORRY but I can not offer any discount on that order.
