  • Pending headache...

So yesterday, SC calls down and asks if he can wait until after work to pay for another night. He doesn't have a reservation for another night. Our check-out is at noon, and he is calling at 12:15. He wants to wait until after 8pm to pay.

I say no, then SC explains he's actually already at work and can't take time off to come in. Ugh. I tell Other MOD that it can happen this once. I listen while Other MOD explains this to him very clearly.

Fast forward to today. I'm MOD again, and I'm also doing swing shift. When I came in this afternoon, I find out that (1) SC has left his stuff in the room when he was due to checkout today, (2) SC again does not have a reservation for tonight, and (3) we are sold-out tonight and don't have room for SC.

So, Housekeeping gets to pack up all his crap and bring it down, and I get to explain when he comes in later this evening that his lack of listening and planning means he doesn't get a room here tonight. And since it will be so late and it's a busy weekend, probably not anywhere else in town, either. Fun times.

By my estimation, assuming he gets off work at the same time as yesterday, that will be in about 3.5 hours....

Hopefully he won't give you too much trouble, I like the new picture by the way. Pippin looks cute on the window.

It went surprisingly painless, all things considered. He dropped a lot of F-bombs, but didn't fight it that hard.

SC: "I want to pay for another night."
Me: "Unfortunately, you were due to check-out at noon, and you did not have a reservation for tonight and so we had to pack up your things."
          SC: *cue incredulous stare* "WHAT?!?!"

I grabbed his bag, which he proceeded to unpack in front of me, because "something is definitely f***ing missing."

          SC: "This is f***ing ridiculous!"
Me: "Well, you were told yesterday you had to pay by..."
SC: "I know what I was f***ing told yesterday! You couldn't even give me a f***ing phone call? I was only two blocks away, seriously! I could have come gotten my stuff myself!"
You didn't give us a phone number to put on file. And if you were "only two blocks away", how come you couldn't come pay on-time yesterday?
Me: "I'm sorry, but it isn't our responsibility to plan for your...."
SC: "No, it's your responsibility to give me a f***ing call! Not just pack my s*** up and hand me a bag when I get here! Who the f*** did this?!?!"
Me: "Housekeeping packed the suitcase. Everything that was in your room is in there."
SC: "No, something is f***ing missing!"

After going through every single pocket, he finally seemed satisfied, packed up, and stormed out.

I think now I will nosh on some of the chocolate that Regional VP gave me (he dropped in for a surprise visit a couple hours ago and left a large box of Hershey's chocolate bars )

SC: "No, something is f***ing missing!"
"your manners, listening skills, and human decency, and ability to not blame others for the consequences of your own actions and lack of planning? We couldn't find those, you must not have brought them with you."
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

So, let me get this straight.

Yesterday, he says he works too far away and cannot possibly come in to pay for an extra night. But today, he says he works only two blocks away and could easily have come in to pack his own bags.

He was told yesterday that paying late was a one time thing, not to be repeated, but expected to repeat it today anyway.

He's upset because he was not called before his bags were packed up, even though he had never left a number you could call him at.

Yep, standard SC logic all around. All the "something's missing" ranting, though, makes me wonder if perhaps he had stashed something in a pocket of his suitcase, and was worried if it was still there (possibly something of dubious legality?).

              Madness takes it's toll....
              Please have exact change ready.

I never understand these people. they have a regular job, so why do they need a hotel room? I only use a hotel when on vacation or traveling.

Or he was hoping he could find that something actually was missing (if that's not an oxymoron ) so he could then start screaming about theft and -- who knows? Possibly get a free room for a night or two ...

                    1. builder working outside reasonable commute distance from the site ( may also explain why the two locations. one is head Office ( probably the far one) one is the actual site. Also explains why he's so pissed off at needing a new room. HHe just wants to sleep.)
                    2. government agent on official business away from home (I'm thinking of DEA/customs here, not CIA. Though CIA would explain why he freaked about something being missing.)
                    3. businessman there for a series of meetings

And continuing in Kristev's line of thought ....

                        House is being majorly exterminated
                        House has burned down
He's a victim of domestic abuse and hiding
                        His property is flooded
Doesn't have a car (anymore), wrecked/repossessed/etc so can't get back to you
Having an affair but doesn't leave any evidence of it (perhaps "she" was the thing that was missing??)
In-laws in town and he can't stand them
Here for a custody visit with child/dog/whatever

                        What have I missed?

I know! The Mafia (which may or may NOT exist) is after him/he's in witness protection plan

In this particular SC's case, I think it was traveling to get to the job (he was from out-of-state).
