We have registers, but we only give you change for paying a fine. We do have bags for sale for $2.
We do have copy machines, which takes $.15 to make a copy (unless you want a color copy, which is a $1). The copy machine will give you change for $1-$5, in coins only.
You have to buy a print card, but have to use a $1 bill (no coins).
So of course we get people bitching at us for not making change for them
No, the service points that have registers won't make change unless you are paing a fine or buying a book bag.
We are in downtown, though, were there are at least 5 banks a block from us. When those banks are closed, you can walk 4 blocks to McDonalds, buy something there, and get change.
A few times people need change and when we tell them they can get change by buying a bag, they are ok with that.
But this past week a loser comes in, and either she forgot her meds or everything is drama for her, she was just a fucking bitch.
Loser (L) goes to one service point that has no register. CW points her to the other side of the lobby to the desks/service points that have registers. I hope cw told her, "we don't make change but if you buy a bag you can get change," but I think there is a 1% chance he forgot we don't make change. I see cw point to L the other service point so I figure he is telling her to pay her fines at that side.
L walks across lobby, but she seems lost and pissed. She goes up to a customer who has a book on cd in hand, in khakis and a polo shirt, who was heading down the stairs, and ask him in a pissed-off voice, "you work here?" She is a foot from me and when the customer in khakis says, "no" I tell her "If you want to pay your fine, you have to stand in that line." She looks at me like I have 2 heads and tells me, "no I don't need to pay a fine, I need change." I tell her, "we don't make change." She says, "You don't make change !?!?!" I have a $5 bill,I need to print, I'm not paying $5 just to print one thing." I tell her about the banks nearby but she says, "why can't you make change?" She wanders off, pissed.
