        Sort of... while I think he was incredibly stupid to leave his laptop alone at the same time I hate taking anything I have to put down in a public restroom. Even if I'm at an airport with a carry-on I always hate the idea of leaving stuff on that gross floor. The only reasonable surface besides that is on the sink but depending on how far away the toilet you might be still risking someone snatching it.

        Still, between having a laptop that needs to be sanitized and a laptop that gets stolen, I'd take the former.
        Fiancee: We're going to need to do laundry. I'm out of clean pants.

          Chances are good his laptop was in some sort of case, either a straight laptop case or a messenger bag style case or a backpack style case. Because I'm pretty sure he wasn't walking around town with his laptop just naked under his arm. (But then, as stupid as he was, that option wouldn't really surprise me.) Whatever kind of case he had, he could have stowed it and taken it with him. It's not tough.

              One of the things I check when I buy any sort of case or handbag is washability. Because this thing is going to be protecting my other stuff from all sorts of nasty surfaces.
