See, I don't get people that hate on a particular group like that. Seriously, what the hell?

I don't hate people simply because they are gay, black, Hispanic, Jewish, women, Muslim, Asian, or even U of A fans. Why would someone DO that?

Me, I am an equally opportunity asshole. I hate EVERYONE!

Yep, in more cases than not, I can definitely find a much better reason than that for hating/disliking someone. Why hate generically when it's much more fun to do it on a personal level

Ignorance, mostly. Especially if you've been raised in a quagmire of it. Shit perpetuates itself.

In my brother's case it's that, and also partially based on bad experiences. He tends to get hit on by gay guys quite a bit despite being fully heterosexual (sorry ladies, he's taken), so add that plus heavy religious and conservative factors and bingo, one bigot who hates homosexuals.

He also hates blacks, Hispanics, feminists, and liberals. Which makes for interesting awkwardness whenever we get together, since I'm a feminist liberal and a supporter of gay rights, and I know at least two friends who have Hispanic heritage. I'm not sure if this is a full-on hate, or if it's more the general ignorant careless hate that gets casually thrown around, at least as far as the race-hates are concerned.

The sad thing is that he can be fun to be around - so long as trigger issues don't enter the picture (usually because he brings them up first. I had to literally walk away the other day after he started spouting a bunch of crap lest I explode and start a family war).

What's weird to me is that I've had bad experiences with creepy guys hitting on me, all but one of whom were black. But you don't see me going around hating on all black males because of that. I guess we're just two vastly different people.

I refer you to "Full Metal Jacket" and what the drill instructor said about everyone being equally worthless at Parris Island.

I hope like Hades that knuckleheadedness and asshattery never become protected categories.

I hate black people. I hate white people. I hate Asian people. I hate gay people. I hate straight people.

Do I hate ALL people of the above groups?

Oh hell no. I only hate the DOUCHEBAGS within those groups.

In other words, to put the above sentences into better perspective, it would be more accurate if I said that I hate black douchebags, white douchebags, Asian douchebags, gay douchebags, and straight douchebags.

So yes, I discriminate. I discriminate against assholes. But I don't discriminate by any other measuring stick.
