Guest: well you dont know much, do you? I guess I am sleeping in the van tonight because you are the 5th person that couldnt help us. This is not good customer service. It should not be legal to treat a customer this way
*brain screeches to a halt* Whaaaaaaaaaaaa?!

Also, it should not be legal for customers to keep insisting that imaginary laws are on their side.

She seriously expected you to be able to tell her where she had booked a room without knowing anything about her?

Just as an example, I just did a quick search, and found 47 locations for Motel 6 in the Los Angeles area. So it's not a small place.

But yeah, if you were any good at providing customer service, you should have been able to tell her which hotel was hers, the quickest way to get there from where she was (without her telling you where she was), and the restaurant her family would like best for dinner (without telling you what kind of food they liked).

Seriously, Dave, I never understand why you are so unhelpful to your customers.

This thread reminds me of my own "where am I going?" story. Years ago I was sent to a clinical conference, at the Marriott Solana. I was told it was "in Dallas". I flew to DFW, no one there had heard of the hotel, there was no shuttle. I had to make several calls to find out where the hotel was, turns out it is in Westlake, Tx, a fair distance from the airport. The cost of a taxi ride was prohibitive. I rented a car to get there. The conference sponsor was paying for dinner the first night, at the fine-dining place in the hotel. I looked at the menu, the entree was salmon. I'm from Seattle. No way was I having salmon in north Texas. I asked the concierge where I could find great Tex-Mex, he recommended a place in Grapevine. I could not convince anyone else to go with me, everyone wanted the freebie salmon. I went by myself and had one of the best meals of my life. Concierge got a nice tip.

If it makes you feel better, would've gone with you. No way would I eat salmon in North Texas either.

It's so I can get ideas out of my head, I decided to put it in a blog in case people are bored or are curious as to the (many) things in progress.

I seriously doubt I would have been able to stop myself from giving a smartass reply to that question.
