That's not unusual in the US Southwest in general. When my uncle lived in Albuquerque compass directions were very much the norm...unless the addy was in Sandia's complex.
Same thing here in the Northwest the city is divided into quadrants. NE, SE, NW and SW, with a bridge on Burnside being the center of town. There's also just a N. designation.

Washington, DC, is also divided by NE, NW, SE and SW, with the capitol being the center point.

From my pizza days, not every day, but it was common for people to call in and know exactly what kind of pizza they wanted.

But not know their address. .

And refused to understand why that meant they weren't getting a pizza delivered today.

"I don't understand! Can't you just bring it?"

"Not without an address, no, how can we bring it if we don't know where you are?"

"WELL! I don't understand why you're making this so difficult! You're not a very good business!"

        Or some such variation.
Tony you read my mind. Sometime it is even a chore to get a PHONE NUMBER out of them (let alone a WORKING phone number), let alone a valid address

          401 E. Adelphia.
          N. 85th Pl.
          96 Harrison.
          E. 13th St.
          E. Apache Blvd.
          Duck Ave.
          4 Colt Court.
          E. Bluebell Ln.
          E. Baseline.
          Howard Dr.
          2-I Heritage Dr.
          S. Clambake.
          S. Doubloon.
          E. La Jolla.
          E. Taylor.
          N. 68th St.
          Valley Rd.
          Dubel Rd.

These are just some of the addresses I've had in my life. I don't always remember the numbers, as you can see, but I generally remember the streets. This list does not include my first 3 residences as an infant and toddler, as I merely know the towns I lived in, not the streets I lived on.

I learned how to pack before I learned how to walk.

(For those of you wondering why there are so many compass indicators in those addresses, those are pretty much from Phoenix, as just about every street everywhere in the Valley of the Sun is either North, South, East, or West. And in Phoenix, it is generally the norm to include the compass direction and ignore the suffix, i.e., Blvd., St., etc. So you would say "I live at 915 East Apache" if you were ordering a pizza, rather than "I live at 915 East Apache Boulevard." The exception to this would be if you lived on a Lane or Place with the same name as a Street or Road nearby, i.e., Hayden Place rather than Hayden Road, as the second is a major street, and the first is not. Oh, and no one lives at 915 E. Apache...last time I checked, it was a club.)
Your list sounds like mine. I probably hit that many by junior high - by the time I finished high school it had been 14 schools, and probably twice that many houses ( I could, but don't feel like, counting - it can be rather depressing). Family remeniscing always begins "when we lived on such & such street", occasionally we mention the town or state, but usually it's the street. And in two cases, we have to specify which house, as we moved from one house to another on the same street.

But even at a young age, I always knew my new address right away.

          Madness takes it's toll....
          Please have exact change ready.

IIRC, as a kid, we moved from one street with a given address # to a completely separate street with the exact same # (as in from 5555 Main Cir to 5555 Generic Dr) -- and now an old family friend lives on yet a third street, with exactly the same number >_<

I have to love when parents will call irate to the post office and insist their kids gave the correct address. I had one lady getting so irate that I finally told her the address she gave me is in the middle of a street and if her daughter lives in the street then she needs to figure out where the rent money is going.

Turns out a newly bought apartment complex was giving out bad addresses. I think their carrier would have beat all if them by a 2x4 if he was allowed. Still a year later we have to correct those moving in what their real address is.
