There have been a few times where I have been sick and taking a shower was the last thing on my mind. I still however washed up a little, and tried to make myself somewhat decent. Unless you're physically or mentally unable to care for yourself there is no excuse not to practice some form of personal hygiene, not just for public perceptions, but for health reasons as well.
