The Coffee Nazi's are coming! The Coffee nazi's are coming!
the only coffee beverages I drink are mochas and frappucinos, preferably with large amounts of carmel on them. I love the cold coffee drinks that taste nothing like actual coffee.
It's pretty much the same with me. I really enjoy the peppermint mochas and also the whipped cream that's put on frappucinos.
And Jester? Fruit flavored beer? Point me towards it. I want to try as many beers as I can. Full Moon is my current favorite.
Sam Adams makes a Cherry Wheat that is to die for. Alot of the micro-brews around here also do a Blueberry Pale Ale during blueberry season, I have had very good and very bad on the blueberry scale. I find the best fruity beers are in little home brewed pubs. One near me did a Banana Blonde last summer that was pretty good considering I HATE banana's. I have also had a Raspberry Red, MMMMM.
The only words you said that I understood were "His", "Phone" and "Ya'll". The other 2 paragraphs worth was about as intelligible as a drunken Teletubby barkin' come on's at a Hooter's waitress.
I don't like most alcoholic beverages, and I've never met a regular beer I could stand.
But I love some of the really dark ales or a good thick stout (one you can practically chew).
Oh, and homebrew honey mead is divine.

I have to admit, if I go out and get coffee on a slow night, I do judge my tip on how well my coffee cup stays filled. However, if it's insane, and the waitress can only get around every now and then I can forgive it. But these people are just straight up, hard-core, java gestappo, geesh.

Interestingly, it was a fellow employee who ended up in hospital briefly for a caffine OD. (Yes, there is such a thing!) She was a student who fired back several red Bulls, a lot of coffee and popped some No-Doz caffine pills while studying for an exam. Then collapsed at work.
Back when I was in a more destructive time of my life, and I was ruing going to work one day I decided to OD on No-Doz, then hope to pass out at work so they'd send me home. I even attempted sitting down and standing up really fast, but it didn't work and I just ended the shift with a pounding headache and sickened stomach.
However
I do know a girl that downed 26 No-Doz pills for her birthday. For those wondering, a No-Doz tablet contains 200 mg of caffeine, and 400 mg is average human tolerence before intoxication. About 2 g of caffeine is a lethal dose for a small body mass. Thus, she consumed 5.2 g of caffeine in one sudden dose.
Needless to say she spent quite a bit of time in the hospital.

I have found that most fruit beers suck. Why? Because they are overloaded with the fruit flavor, and they simply taste like beer with fruit flavor added. That is because that is what most of them ARE--the brewer brews a beer, and then adds the fruit flavoring of choice. And usually the flavoring is a fruit extract, which isn't exactly great either.
The best raspberry beer I ever had was the one at the brewpub I used to work at, because they used FRESH raspberries, and they put them in the beer during the brewing process itself, not after the fact. It was not overpowering, it was not overly sweet, it was just perfect.
Rare is a good fruit-flavored beer, but if you can find one, it is great. (And my apologies to you, Banrion, but I only find the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat to be decent, not really great.)
Cheers!

Raspberry wheat Beer? who makes it and where is it available??
I've had raspberry beer, and my current favorite beer is a wheat beer, but the two together- that sounds very good indeed.
As for coffee, I make my own and adulterate it to my own taste, and don't tell anyone what I put in it for fear of running afoul of the coffee nazis I work with- who are already less than impressed with the fact that my coffee is in the fridge in a ziploc marked 'Jpurple's coffee- PAWS OFF!'

I am sure you can google many on the web, but one I don't even have to look up is one we serve at My New Bar. It is Lindeman's Framboise (pronounced "Fram bwah"), though it is very very sweet. One way we serve it is as a combination beer: 1/4 Framboise, 3/4 Blue Moon (a Belgian white ale). Even THAT way the raspberry flavor and overall sweetness is intense, so be warned.
Framboises are Belgian fruit beers that are very tasty, but not for those that don't like either fruit or sweetness. Just so you know.
There ARE fruit beers on the market that are much less intense/sweet, but you will have to check for your local availability, and after that, experiment for your personal preference. The best raspberry beer *I* ever had was at the brewpub I used to work at in Phoenix which, sadly, is defunct.
Happy hunting!
