So whyfor would you be after not keepin' the graves anymore? They're still there in daylight, and there's less spooky shadows and more colourful flowers. AND you can read the gravestones, which can help to pass the time while you're trimming shrubs and mowing the grass.

And you'll still be hitting the Skytrain after dark, so I don't see the scenery THERE changing that much. I was a regular on the train during the morning commute for quite some time - zombies packed in like sardines with the same blank, fishy stares burning through the back of your head. A train full of wet zombies, oh that's gonna be fun.

Brian Regan(sp?) if I know my comedians. Which I think I do. Some of them. A few. Okay I heard him a few times on a comedy stream.
I honestly thought your commentary was a reference to this same act, so I was just continuing the joke.

        1) "Mastercard" is a 10-letter word that doesn't include the letters "Q" or "Z" (which don't appear on the dial of a phone).
The Q and Z thing isn't even true anymore. They're mapped to 7 and 9, respectively, for most newer phone systems.

On my cellphone, they're on 7 and 9. On my home phone, they're missing. My guess is that they're needed for text messages, but that exchange names (back in the days of 6 digit local dialing) would be too restrictive if they were used (too few words starting with "Z", and any starting with "Q" would have "U" as the second letter). Examples:

          ROsedale 1234 (76)
          UNiversity 1234 (86)
          FAirview 1234 (32)
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

British rotaries - in the days when exchanges were named mnemonically - had O and Q on the digit 0, but apparently Z was nowhere. I assume that no exchange name needed to use Z, but as far as I can tell (looking at old lists of Subscriber Trunk Dialling and London Director codes), neither was Q used. Maybe it was used in other Director cities.

Here's a phone dial showing Q on the 0 digit: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...L._AA1500_.jpg Unfortunately that's a modern replica which, among other things, has O in the wrong place.

A very early version, without Q in place, can be seen in this 1930s film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFbRv...ailpage#t=644s

However, I have to confess that on the CS Christmas card list I gave the wrong postal code. It wasn't the postal code of the city I just moved from ... at least that would be understandable.

No, it was the postal code of the house that my maternal grandparents once lived at. Now, Grandpa went to the beer hall in the sky nearly a decade ago and had moved out of that particular house at least 10 to 15 years before that. So ... yeah ... I probably shouldn't laugh too hard at GK's customer.
Many of the prepay gas pumps around here have you put in your zip if you use a credit card. A few months ago, I was having trouble getting one to work on multiple visits. I'd have to go inside have have the clerk run the card. I finally realized the third time, I was putting in the zip code for where I lived in 1992. In my defense, I've lived in the same county for 26+ years, and have lived in sequential zip codes (although not in the correct order. I was in xxx44, xxx45, xxx44 (again), xxx75, and for the past 9 years, xxx43. Oh crap, it's aging, isn't it??
Smile, or I'll smack you silly!

I was checking how confused a patient was today by doing a Mini-Mental state exam . One of the things you have to ask is what year it is. They said 19xx instead of 2012. I was just checking to see if it was the year they were born when they interrupted me and said, "No that's not right, that's the year I was married." Super cute!

No, I'm actually on the Skytrain even later than I normally would be on my way home. It's just as bad if not worse as the ones heading out of downtown are the suvivors.

I suppose checking his driver's license/state ID was out of the question...Oh, wait, there I go, being all logical again...
That's what I do practically every time I need to put my address down. Mainly because most of the times I use it, I'm either using it on a system that's already got it set up, or I have to set it up for the first time.

In other words, I don't use my address enough to remember it clearly. (Same goes for my phone. )

In my own life, I've lived in:

2 Countries (3 if Quebec ever separates)
                    2 provinces, 1 state.
                    8 Cities
                    17 houses/apartments/condos.
But not many roommates. (I tend to prefer the solitary life and have been lucky to be able to have an income that lets me support it)

                      3 countries
4 states, 2 of them twice, one canton (Switzerland), one city-state (Libya)
12 cities, 3 of those twice,
31 houses, apartments, duplexes, mobile homes

Yeah I've moved aLOT! In my most recent marriage (19 years), we have moved 14 times - and no, we're not military.

Whereas I have lived the same place for almost 37 years. That does not, surprisingly enough, mean that I haven't had to deal with changes in the address. Even the zip-code has changed .

I can tell you the street name where I grew up as I lived there the first 18 years of my life before I entered the Air Force. And I usually remembered my address in places I've lived since then. That includes 3 different addresses for the 8 years we (Husband and I) were in the UK. And No I don't remember them now so don't ask. I do remember the towns though: Grundesburg, Ipswich, and Saxmundham. And unless I have a mental lapse I can remember my address where we live now. Most of the time.

                            Hmm.
I've lived in one country, and only one city in that country. Three different suburbs, three houses. (This is not counting the house/s I was in from birth to 6 months; I may have been moved around a little then) I can only remember my parent's postcode tho. XD
