    I was under the belief that lawyers were not allowed to state their stature by saying, "IM A LAWYER!!" in order to intimidate or bully others. At that moment I would have called Bullshit, ask for their firm, and give them a call if that were the case.
    I would also ask for their card Any legal professional worth their fancy tie will always have some on hand.

    Also, I seem to recall people saying (on this board) that most people who actually are in that profession prefer to use the term "attorney" Perhaps there are differing connotations, for those in the know?
