  • Hung up on a customer today.

Not super exciting all in all.

Guy calls the pizza shop and wants to know the specials. We have many coupons available, but most are only available if specifically requested due to policy. The problem is that he wasn't requesting a special that we had available at all.

SC- Dont you have a large for x amount?
Me- No, thats only available during (x) days.

Pretty much that repeats a couple of times and then,

    SC- You're fucking stupid!
Me- Yeah, this conversations over now 'click'.

    He didnt call back either.

It felt... good to hang up on that moron. Really good in fact. The nice thing is I knew the shift manager had my back even if he did call back.

I somehow get great amusement out of hanging up on shitty customers.

    "Yeah, we're done here." *click*

There's nothing better than the feeling of hanging up on a rude customer. I'm a little lucky in that while I have a boss (my father), he has unlisted phone numbers so all calls come to me. So when the call back to complain, I get the pleasure of doing it again.

I had one customer call back 6 times one day. Totally made my day.
Mytical: A SC? Make a mistake? Oh goodness no. Must have been the little pink men from the planet parsley in the butternut galaxy. We all know that SC's could NEVER make mistakes.

I did that a couple weeks ago. He was screaming at me for no reason, wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise, and there were guests waiting. I just hung up. He called back ten minutes later and was much nicer.

Had another lady call in cussing yesterday, I didnt take the call. It was the asst. manager. The nicest thing about where I work is that the managers have no patience for people calling in and cussing at us.

          assnt man: Hello (gets interupted)
SC: You messed up my order you bllankety blank blank (I dont know what all was said and cant even remember what it was all about).

But he told her to not call back and hung up on her. She kept trying to call back but he told us not to answer the phone. No problems on my end, Im either in the back doing dishes or on a run that time of night.

You have to wonder if these people have any remaining friends who can tolerate them, or even family members who will even talk to them.

And only because SCs never listen to what anyone says except what they want to hear, so they can tune out the other SC's rubbish.

That was one of several things I used to like about working at the newspaper: under 3 or the 4 editors who headed up the paper during my time there, we only had to put up with a reasonable amount of suck. Beyond that, we could just say, "This conversation's over" and hang up.

Don't you guys realize you're going about this whole thing wrong? What you should do is say, "please hold" and then quietly hang up on them, or just keep them waiting for quite awhile on hold

Where I work... generally, we ask them not to curse the first time. Second time they get vulgar, click.

For about six months, our work area had a sticky note with every number from a certain person listed. He was the epitome of obsessed and brutally vulgar. We were given authority to immediately hangup his call any time we saw his number on caller ID. Some new people would actually answer his calls out of sheer curiosity, then realize why the more experienced of us wouldn't even talk to him.
