Yeah, I'm sure we've all heard this one a few times.

See, we couldn't process credit cards for a little while. Turned out to be an easy fix once the guy got there to do it. But this lady apparently went batshiat when told that no 'we wont give you the food for free'.

There are no fewer than 6 ATMs located within half a mile of our location. Yeah...

The GM felt the need to call the owner to let him know, so that lady had to have made one heck of a fuss.

That's what I love about the companies that I work for. Calling corporate puts you through to a retail peon like myself who will gladly tell you you are wrong. :-)

Credit processor down = Free? Wow. They just never stop being insane do they? I can (almost) see a scammer trying to get away with this in-store, but then to call corporate about it after the fact is really brain 'splodey time.

No doubt the SC in the OP thought that corporate was a bunch of spineless wimps who would be all to happy to get scammed.

Considering how outrageous some of the demands at PFB have been lately... I'm not entirely surprised.


I've been saying it for a while but, I really think with some people they think "I'm ANGRY" means the store has to appease them to sooth the anger. Really it's like a child with a temper tantrum.

That could very well be one of the main issues we are dealing with, people who threw tantrums as kids and they got what they want.

The one that baffles me was the case of one person flipping the fuck out over the fact that our local WaWa (convenience store) had the same problem. The Credit Card system had gone tits-up on them and they could not take credit/debit cards.

Customer was in Bat-Shit-Crazy mode because he could not pay for his gas and his soda with his debit card.

Not even pointing out that there was a surcharge Free ATM over in the corner less than 10 feet from the registers.

Even more baffling was the fact that I could see this idjit's card and it was issued by the same bank as the ATM so even if it wasn't surcharge free for everyone...it would have been for him as a client of the bank.

Some people just seem to enjoy going bat-shit on others.
