Tonight will mark the end of my 4-week training session with our new-hire. Next week, he'll work with the day shift helpdesk to learn more about the kinds of calls we might get. The man is bright, intelligent, and knows his shit. It's such a pleasant surprise.
He trained for 3 weeks with another co-worker before coming to my shift. There are enough differences between them that some training is required for each night of the week. Since he started, I've only had to show him the "new" stuff once, with a couple of reminders, but beyond that, I've been sitting here twiddling my thumbs and trying to stay awake. He is a great improvement from the last two people who have left.
So, Chris, welcome to the team, and get the hell off my shift so I have something to do at night.
