I work the Front Desk of the residence at my university. After 5:00pm, the Front Desk becomes the main switch board for the school. On top of that, Front Desk workers are in charge of making sure Patrol (who protect the students) and Security (who protect the property) are on the job. This means checking their radios, dispatching them for incidents, giving them necessary information, and many other important things. My shift is the Tuesday overnight. I work from midnight Tuesday until 8:00am. The last patrol people get off at 4am, and security has to stay in their office when they aren't doing rounds. All in all, it's a pretty lonely job in the later hours of the shift.
One night at 2am-
Student- Hey, *hinakiba777* right?
Me- Yeah. Hey.
Student- (Looks around) Are you working again?
Me- Yeah, I never leave. (laughs)
Student- I can see that. How long are you working tonight?
Me- Midnight until 8. I work this shift every Tuesday.
Student- Wow. You need an awesome hug for being able to do this.
He then leaned over the desk and gave me a huge hug. I don't think I was every happier to be working that shift.
