BG: Every Friday the staff here in the office get out for lunch. Usually we just walk across the car park to the coffee shop. This particular time I ordered a chicken & sweetcorn salad roll. Got it, ate it, and it was for the most part just mayonnaise and sweetcorn. I did not complain at the time because, well, I was hungry and I ate it.
The next day (I was covering the phones for the Saturday morning) I walked across to the coffee shop to get coffee while waiting to be collected. The manager was in.
Anyways, while queueing I happen to mention to him:
Me: Hi <manager>, this is not a complaint, but yesterday I got a chicken & sweetcorn salad roll, and it all seemed to be mayo and corn. Just thought you should know.
Manager: Oh, okay. Want to try another?
Me: No, just getting coffee today.
Manager: Go on, no charge. Let me know if it is okay.
Got it, my coffee and went home. I will have to thank him when I am in again. I expected nothing, but got lunch.
