I was helping an older lady on self check today, and standing just a bit behind her, watching her work to make sure she got everything correct, when a mother and her young daughter come trotting up behind said lady, and mom & daughter have a slightly hushed discussion, daughter saying things like, "I know her, mom, I'm gonna go say hi..."
Mom basically tells her to go ahead.
Daughter suddenly blurts, "I'm too shy!"
They leave. I move in to help the lady finish, and tell her what she missed, and she smiles, and tells me she's a teacher at some elementary school, and she'll probably have a student come up to her tomorrow, and say, "I saw you out in real life!"
I told her I thought it was cute, and that's why I told her. She agreed and thanked me for passing it on.
