Ack! Don't actually encourage anyone to use a Mac that I have to talk to... we don't support them since our program needs to run in at least IE 6.0 and Mac doesn't run 6.0 or higher of IE (I hate IE personally, but that's the browser that our system runs in) so they can't use our system if they have a Mac, unless they're running a windows emulator.

Try explaining THAT to a computer illiterate person!

I recall reading somewhere about a Firefox extension that can be activated when required to render a page using IE's engine. I'd imagine that one would need to already have IE though, so...
I think, therefore I am. But I am micromanaged, therefore I am not.

True, and Not So, in that order. It's actually a full recreation of the IE rendering engine (minus all the GUI and "run Windows" crap) formated into a Firefox plugin.

The woman promptly took hold of the mouse, and *lifted* it off the mouse pad. "It's not working," she told me.

I know ignorance is not the same as stupidity, but... damn!

I wonder if she was left handed and used to using a mouse configured for that (right click and left click are reversed), but this time was using a normal mouse.
I had to reverse the buttons on the mouse for my desktop. The left button quit working, and the way my desk was set up, it was just easier to switch the buttons, rather than replace the mouse. I actually adjusted pretty quickly. Then I bought the laptop, with it's new mouse. Then I had to juggle between 'right hand configuration' & 'left hand configuration' when moving stuff from the old computer to the new one.

And, nobody better try taking my wheel mouse away from me.

I had my desktop set up to have left-handed mouse, but since every other desktop is right-handed, I also became good at jumping back and forth from left to right handed. I contemplated switching a couple computers and leaving them like that, but most people I work with wouldn't have a clue as to what to do to fix it >_<

I my wireless mouse. The only time it gets irritating is when the battery dies without any notice, and I have to determine if it's the battery, or if the computer's frozen. (Not too much of an issue since the new computer, but the memories remain).

I miss my wireless mouse. I'm about to replace it today.

The stupid thing decided to keep me on my toes. If I moved it up, the pointer would move left. If I moved it left, the pointer would move down. It would follow pattern for right and down. I even tried to use it like that for a day until I grabbed a left over USB mouse.
