An aunt of a good friend of mine was recently reported to be hunting all over the machine for the money slot ... after she won a virtual bingo.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

There needs to be a mandatory intelligence test that one needs to pass before owning a computer.

Behind you 200%. A focus on testing comprehension skills would probably be best.

Example:

"What does it mean to 'boot up your computer'?"
A. Kick it.
B. Throw it in the air.
C. Put a boot on it.
D. None of the above.

Even a basic 20-question test would cut down on so many of the ID10T, PEBKAC and HKI errors in the world. Not to mention save a hell of a lot of frustration and costs incurred by stupid people breaking things.
