Call from yesterday:
Me - that chick in I.T.
FD - flaming dumbass
FD: I'm having trouble uploading things to my site
Me - (performs WHOIS query) Actually, I see that you have a domain name only account with us, but that your hosting is with (other company). If you're having trouble uploading, you'll need to contact your hosting provider.
FD: Yes (other company), that's my hosting service, but I've traced the problem back to you guys. I'm only having trouble with the sites that I have with you.
Me - Okay, but we're only providing your domain name, which would not affect your ability to upload files to your webspace. You'll need to contact your hosting provider.
FD - So why am I only having trouble with the sites that I have with you then?
Me - I don't know, but your hosting provider provides the webspace that you upload to, so you would need to contact them about any problems with uploading files.
FD - I've already contacted them. The problem is with you guys because I'm only having trouble with the sites I have with you.
Me - Okay ma'am, do you understand the difference between web hosting and a domain name?
FD - Yes, I have hosting through (company) and a domain name through you.
Me - Okay, but do you know what hosting is?
FD - Yes, it's the service I use to put files on the web site
Me - And you said that the problem you're having is with uploading files to your web site, right?
FD - Yes
Me - So then you would need to contact your hosting provider, since they provide the service that allows you to upload files
FD - Would it be possible to transfer my domain name to someone else?
Me - Certainly. Your domain is unlocked & ready for transfer - you'd just need to call the other registrar.
FD - Good, because you guys don't even make it easy to contact tech support - the phone menu is too hard - and my sites are down and you don't want to take responsibility for it - <bitchmoanrantWAAAAAAAAAAAAMBULANCE>
Me - Okay ma'am, have a nice day.
