    When I'm done youll be fired!

    Yes I got to hear that, for the first time. Little background, I do in home tech support (On my days off from my 9-5 job, for eh-tea-and-tea) because of the part of town i work in (cary $1,000 worth of stuff is just asking to get mugged or robed) I practice my right to bear arms, for personal protection, I have a CCW but when I go for repairs I display weapon to, usually, let it be known, and I tell customers that I carry it when I setup appointments. Customer was fine, then i showed up, started doing work, and the customer fliped out.

    SC: IM going to get your fired!
    ME: uh wha?
    SC: Carying a GUN while on the JOB!!! Your Job is mine!
    ME: I did inform you that I would be brining it with me.
    SC: I want to talk to your manager NOW, then I want you to fix the computer and get out!
    ME: UH, one problem, IM THE OWNER.
    SC: ........oh........ well... still fix it and get out......


    OH im so so so so happy I got to use that one. for the first time!!!!!

    Hehe. When I do this kind of one-the-side work, and I get someone who seems to be turning unreasonable, I give them one warning. I DO charge a moron tax, and if they continue to do so, said tax is $20 per infraction. I've only had warn someone once though. Usually the people I work for are cool.

          Just don't call it a moron/asshole tax on the bill. Maybe label it an "ID-10-T Adjustment"

            I know a tech who charges hourly and for SC's he just adds a line to the bill. AHPH....A**hole Penalty Hour!

              Personally

              I hate hand guns, and I would avoid any area where I need to wear one to feel safe.

              But, if you are working in said area then the SC in demanding that you not wear a gun is endangering your life by demanding for you not to wear one in said area.

              At this point if possible I would make it clear that you can not supply long term support (returning to said area) without your gun to protect yourself and refuse to start the job out-right.

              The only time the SC would be in the right is if you were careless enough to take off your weapon on entering the house and leaving it where a child could get at it.

                Well I was raised in a 'weapons allowed' family where we all learned weapon safety (not just guns but knives and such) and as such if my weapon is not on my belt, its in a locked box.
                See I wish I could pick where people live, but $$ is $$ and Phoenix has this great theory: If we build NEW houses in parts of OLD neighborhoods then the bad people in the old houses will leave! sadly it has yet to work.

                    hell i think the cs was just stupid. could have said "no thanks" when informed of the gun. i mean you did go out of your way to inform them about it BEFORE you showed up.

                    in my opinion... when they threaten to get you fired... hell... that's a good time to say... "OK. Your computer can rot. Bye bye, no i'm not fixing it."

                    then again... guns don't bother me. i had to carry at work sometimes so i'm use to them. did pretty well on my last qual shoot too - 217. not bad considering i hadn't shot in over a year.

                        Now that would make me mad. Shame you could not afford to refuse the job. Still did you point out that the customer had already approved you wear a gun originally?.

                          Oh yeah I reminded her; 1. at the door she saw it, and still said come on in! 2. her husband ASKED "Hey what kinda pistol is that?" (Walther P22 if your interested) with her standing next to him.
